About This Spot

Stepping into Gilmours Coffee Shop on Greystones Road feels like slipping into a quietly familiar corner of Sheffield where time slows just enough to catch your breath. The atmosphere is gently warm and unpretentious—an inviting retreat from the day’s usual pace. Here, the hum of conversation blends softly with the occasional clink of cups, creating a background that welcomes both brief pauses and lingering moments.

This is very much a cozy neighborhood haven, where the rhythm of the space seems to reflect the gentle ebb and flow of everyday life. Whether you arrive for a quick catch-up with friends, a thoughtful solo coffee break, or a relaxed rendezvous after a local wander, there’s a calm assurance in the way the place feels lived-in and cared for. The friendly staff lend a reassuring presence without crowding the space, encouraging a genuine sense of belonging.

At Gilmours, coffee is quietly celebrated, drawn from local roasters and carefully crafted, whether you’re savoring a velvety flat white or opting for a clear, smooth long black. The kitchen quietly supports these coffee moments with thoughtful treats—croissants that warm your hands, or cakes that bring a subtle sweetness to the table, like a lemon and white chocolate slice offering gentle surprise alongside your latte.

On any given day, this coffee shop welcomes a mix of familiar faces and curious passersby, all drawn here by its understated charm. Children spill in from the nearby school, neighbors pause on their way home, and visitors from nearby parts of the Peak District find a steady, welcoming spot to restore their energy. Space feels shared rather than served, reflecting a rhythm that’s less about rush and more about genuine human moments.

Gilmours Coffee Shop quietly proves that a great local café isn’t just about what’s on the menu—but about how the space makes you slow down, connect, and simply be present, even if only for a short while.

This is a lovely little coffee shop on Greystones Road. Really good for a short break or a longer leisurely time away from your regular day. Offerings are good and tasty, although the sandwich/food offers could be more.

Fantastic little coffee shop - stopped on our way home from the Peak District on a whim as the hidden gem was close. Welcoming, warm and with fantastic coffee and cakes. Had a couple of sausage rolls which were delicious too - will be returning to try the food menu. Clean throughout and with friendly staff, can't do much better than this to be fair. We will be back!

One of my favourite spots for a quick catch up with friends: cozy atmosphere and good coffee from local roasters. The deserts are sadly nothing special, but my kids never complained. The place gets quite busy after school pick-up as situated right across from Greystones Primary. No wifi ('talk to each other').

Wonderful coffee shop I wish my pie was warmed up properly rather than just microwaved, hence four stars but it was delicious

Such a fantastic cafe! Lovely friendly staff. The best hot chocolate in Sheffield! The cafe is often busy and there’s always a great atmosphere. The staff are hot on cleanliness which is fab. There are a few seats outside, great in the summer as it’s a lovely sun trap! Delicious sweet bakery treats, all reasonably priced. Would highly recommend!
